My Birth Support Package
Here you will find a birds eye view of the care I offer birthing families. Most doulas offer a very similar package, with small differences or perks (such as massage, in my case). I encourage you to choose a doula based on your gut, not simply comparing packages.
Details about sliding scale pricing are listed here.
Before Birth
- First Meeting. Your first meeting with me is free, and not part of the package. You can think of it as an interview or a consultation before we sign a contract and decide to work together.
- Unlimited Virtual Support. From the moment I join your team, you are welcome to call or text me with questions, updates, observations, or for emotional support. This support continues for 12 weeks after your baby is born.
- Prenatal Visits. One extended prenatal visit in your home — typically between three and four hours. This time allows us to get to know one another, explore your values/hopes/goals for birth, and build a birth preference document. We can also practice comfort measures, practice positioning, begin a postpartum plan, and chat about a feeding plan. Our second visit is optional – virtual or in your home, or a walk by a lake, usually scheduled closer to your estimated due date.
- Massage. One 60 Minute Pregnancy Massage in my Uptown office . This is an opportunity for me to get some information about your body and where it holds tension, and for you to feel some of that tension released!
During Labor & Birth
- On Call Availability. I will be on call 24/7 to join you at home or at your chosen birthing location when you decide you are ready from your 37th week until your 38th week – or whenever your baby is born.
- Early Labor Virtual Support. I’ll listen and talk through those first signals your body is sending you.
- My Presence. I will be with you throughout your birth, providing continuous non-judgemental decision making support, advocacy, and teamwork with your partner to bring you a sense of ease, solidarity, and affirmation.
- Comfort Measures. Hand and foot massage, hot and cold compresses, positioning suggestions, and much, much more.
- Surgical Birth Support. If you are planning a C-section, I’m happy to be present in the OR. If you are hoping for a vaginal birth and experience a change of plans, I will do everything I can to join you in the OR.
Postpartum Care
- Staying By Your Side. I’ll stay with you at your birthing location for about two hours after your birth, while you experience your first moments with your little one. I like to stay until both of you have been fed.
- Postpartum Visits. One or two visits in your home. We can discuss your birth experience and you can receive a little at-home care.
- Staying Connected. I’ll continue to be available for phone and text support for 12 weeks after your baby is born, but you can continue to reach out in perpetuity! Once your doula, always your doula.
